Vinny's origin story is quite grim and caused Thor to consume a pumpkin pie with his bare hands in the middle of the night at a USPS parking lot. * He is missing one of his ears, which caused Shaye to name him after Vincent Van Gogh. This is also because he is bonded to Shaye because of his Waardenburg Syndrome.
