Pirate Software is the indie game studio owned by Thor.

  • develop.games, is a website that documents Thor's experience with game development and offers advice to newcomers.
  • The Pirate Software Game Jam is a competition with the goal of creating a game within two weeks, adhering to extremely strict and limiting rules.

Naming sense

The name "Pirate Software" has been chosen by Thor because his friend thought it was funny. The studio has no relation to software piracy.

Streaming

During the stream, chat is often referred to as 'Goblins,' a term they have fully embraced. On December 27th, 2023, the Goblins received their 7th brain cell. This brain cell is collectively shared among the participants on the streaming platform, with both YouTube and Twitch users each having access to 7 brain cells. This demonstrates the current power of the chat.

Hype Train

As of December 29th, 2023, Pirate Software has become the first streamer to break the Hype Train record multiple times, achieving this remarkable feat a total of four times.

When the community reaches level 55 on the Hype Train, they have 5 minutes to accumulate as many points as possible by purchasing subscriptions or bits.

13th December 2023 - Level 55 reached with 179% (New Record set by Pirate Software)

15th December 2023 - Level 55 reached with 512% (New Record set by Pirate Software)

27th December 2023 - Level 55 reached with 1,397% (New Record set by Pirate Software, later broken by Admiral Bahroo within a few minutes)

27th December 2023 - Level 55 reached with 1,603% (New Record set by Admiral Bahroo)

29th December 2023 - Level 55 reached with 1,906% (New Record set by Pirate Software)

26th March 2024 - Twitch removes the level 55 cap on hype trains and introduces new rewards, including KappaInfinite

1st April 2024 - Level 106 reached with with 47% (New Record set by Pirate Software, currently holds the world record)

2nd April 2024 - Twitch adds the DidIBreakIt emote in honour of Thor beating level 100 and breaking Twitch's servers, having caused significant desync across clients.
