The Adventures of Findom chaun is an upcoming narrative game by Pirate Software about a man spending all his money in a desperate attempt to get a streamer's attention. It is inspired by the real character Findom chaun, but set in a dystopian future where citizens are confined to their respective high rise building.

Setting

Though it could be categorized as post apocalyptic, the game makes a point in describing that "Apocalypse had not come, and now many longed for the day it would". The outside (everything except high rise buildings) has been wiped of any life as well as infrastructure and machines.

The citizens in the world of The Adventures of Findom chaun are unable and un-wanting to go outside. Each high rise building therefore forms a loosely knit community on its own, but many residents seek to build contact with others, from other buildings, through the use of their rudimentary (and often malfunctioning) Internet Access Devices (IAD). Despite the narrative often revolving around the survival of the communities and/or humanity as a whole, it is never revealed in what way this is attempted and how the logistics work beyond the borders of each high rise building (e.g. where the "food" and other consumables come from).

Narratives

A strong theme in the game is the omnipresent conflict between the opinion that humanity should restore communication structures to work together as a whole and improve their conditions long term, and the opinion that citizens should focus on their own high rise community first and foremost in order to ensure their day-to-day survival. Despite the arguments highlighting positive intentions, they are mostly presented in a negative way in the game and always lead to more—often violent—conflict.

Development plans

The Adventures of Findom chaun will be developed in Unity, as it is the most appropriate engine for games where you spend money pointlessly.

The game will require a raytracing-enabled GPU (e.g. from the nVidia 10000 series) and a 40K VR headset.

It will also be the first Pirate Software title to be released on mobile devices, despite the high system requirements. The mobile version will be powered by microtransactions and an in-game currency known as "bobs", required to replenish the chaun's energy. The Steam version, on the other hand, will retail for $100, and will use DLC to distribute every pixel of the game on top of that.
